Check List pre Installation of NetDIVE software


The short & quick description of what is needed to install your NetDIVE software system (eAuditorium, CallSite or SiteSticky) on your server is that you need to have a Dedicated server which you have full root access to and which has a remote control software running on it, such as secure shell in case of Unix or VNC in case of Windows. And that either it is not behind a FireWall so that we can open the proper ports remotelly or that the proper ports on it are opened as needed, which your ISP can easily do. That is it.

However if you want the full detail then please read on. Please note: if you are not the Admin of your server forward this document to your server Admin or to your ISP and ask them to make sure that these items regarding your server are in order.



General Check List of your Server:
If your server Operating System is of Unix (Linux) type then you need to make sure the following are in order in regard to your server before we can start the installation of your NetDIVE software system on your server:
  1. That we have Full SSH access to your server
  2. That we have Root rights to your server (root login and password)
  3. That your server has a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) eg: my.server.com
  4. That your server has enough disk space for the installation and operation of your NetDIVE server, minimum 500 MB required, 5GB is recommended
  5. If your server has multiple IP addresses, mark which IP should be used for installation and operation of your NetDIVE server. Please note: we need 1 free (real) IP to install your NetDIVE software system if you want the Voice communication to be Fire wall enabled.
  6. That your server is set up for standard downloading and installation of software.

If your server Operating System is Microsoft based then you need to make sure the following are in order:

  1. That we have full remote access to your server (Remote Desktop or VNC)
  2. That we have full administrator user rights to your server for Installation of software
  3. That your server has a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) eg: my.server.com
  4. That your server has enough disk space for the installation and operation of your NetDIVE server, minimum 500 MB required, 5GB is recommended
  5. If your server has multiple IP addresses, mark which IP should be used for installation and operation of your NetDIVE server. Please note: we need 1 free (real) IP to install your NetDIVE software system if you want the Voice communication to be Fire wall enabled.



Check list if your server is not located on the public Internet:
If your server is not located on the public Internet, such as it is a DSL hosted server, it is behind a Fire wall, etc., and thus we cannot remotely open the needed ports on your server you need to make sure that the needed ports on your server are opened and accessible via the Internet. The ports needed for proper installation and operation your NetDIVE software system are:
  1. CallSite TCP Ports - 36680, 36681, 36688, 36690
  2. eAuditorium TCP Ports - 2116-2118, 8889
  3. SiteSticky TCP Ports - 2112-2114
  4. All - TCP and UDP ports 8181, 8182


Check List for Integration with your SQL database:
In case you have purchased integration support for your NetDIVE software with your SQL database backend, then our integration support in this regard will include configuring your database for usage with your NetDIVE server in such way that your NetDIVE server is reading your user information from your SQL database rather than from a flat file. To complete this task we just require Super Admin rights to your SQL database.

Again if you are not sure about any of the above items, please copy & paste these requirements regarding your server to your server Admin or your ISP.

Please note: that "basic support" prices for integrating your NetDIVE software with your SQL DB is limited to integrating the Two servers to talk with one another and the development of any Web pages to read/write to your SQL DB or to Admin your SQL DB is up to you. However we can also provide you such support under a Professional Services contract at $95.00 per man-Hour.



What we will do after you confirm you have completed the Check List:
Once you have confirmed that the above Check List items are in order with your server, then log-into your My-NetDIVE account, click on "My Server Info" page and submit your Server information to us Securely. We will then proceed with the installation of your NetDIVE software system on your server. At which time we will do the following:
  1. We will confirm that the items of the above Check List are in fact done.
  2. If all items of the Check List are done and in order, we will then send you a message that we are starting the installation.
  3. We will then do the following:

    1. Download and unpack your NetDIVE software system onto your server.
    2. Install the latest version of Java SDK on your server, (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp )
    3. Install the latest version of Tomcat server on your server,(http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/index.html)
    4. Install the Jakarta (mod_jk) connector (http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/connectors-doc/)
    5. Configure your NetDIVE software system for proper operation.
    6. Start your NetDIVE software system and make sure all is working OK.

  4. Once the installation of your NetDIVE software system is done, we will then send you a "Done" message document. This document will contain important information about your NetDIVE software installation on your server, such as where it is located, how to start & stop it, temporary Admin username & passwords, etc.
  5. At this time we will also invite you to a live meeting via your installed NetDIVE software system, to quickly, in about 30 minutes, show you that all is installed and working with your NetDIVE software and allow you to ask questions that you may have before getting started using your NetDIVE product.
  6. This will then conclude our installation support of your NetDIVE software as per the Full Installation support that you had purchased. However you will still have the balance of complimentary free Unlimited support that was given to you as per your purchase of Full Installation support and you may contact our support team during this time with any questions that you have about your newly installed NetDIVE software system.

    If your server is not in the right order:
    If your server is not in the right order as per the above check list, we will then present to you a detailed description of what you need to ask your Server Admin (or ISP) to do to put your server in the right order. Should you not have the necessary Server Admin in house or your ISP not being able to do this work, we may be able to do this work for you. The cost for such additional 3rd party related work will be at the rate of $95 per man-Hour with minimum purchase of 4 Hours required.

    Please note: should such work require physical access to the server, of course we will then not be able to do such work, since our support/work is remote based only.
